The Princess and the toe

Ha! And you thought I'd say Princess and the Frog! Which by the way is a great movie with great jazz music if you haven't already seen it. Of course it's in my car, so I get to 'hear' it all the time!!

We've had a lot of fun lately, and I have a few funnies to share with you. Of course keep in mind they may not be as funny to you as they were to me, but I was in tears several times this week! These kids are HILARIOUS!! And Evie is starting to talk more and more, and her gestures, her facial expressions are GREAT! She even gave me the stink eye last night when I reprimanded her! Oh, if only I could captured some of it on video- I'd be $100,000 richer- I'm sure!

Anyway, I digress. This post is about the princess, Ms. Ella. A few weeks ago they celebrated Dr. Suess's birthday at school. As a result they were allowed to dress up as their favorite storybook character, bring the book, and have a parade around school. I tell you- it was so much fun! I loved seeing all the different creative ideas, there were kids dressed as the 'Chica Chica Boom Boom' tree, 'Sam I Am', tons of 'Fancy Nancy's', my all time favorite as 'Skippyjon Jones', and plenty more! Of course Ms. Ella chose to dress as Belle from her Disney Princess's book. The outfit is courtesy of Auntie Lee! And might I say she looked dashing! There was only one other Belle in the whole parade (I was shocked), but Ella took the cake!! Here she is!

Funny story #1- and yes I do have a photo for proof. But first a little background. You know the footed pj's that are so cute on kids? Well, ours have lasted through all 3 girls believe it or not! However, some are getting quite worn, and stretched out. Yet, I don't want to go purchase more because it is warming up here and there won't be a need for them much longer, so I push to make them work. Evie is REALLY stretching them out as she is too tall for them and her feet are a bit too long for them, but they work for now.

The other morning, I was up with Evie and fixing Emery breakfast (Evie had already eaten). Evie decided she wanted something else to eat from the fridge. She padded over to the fridge and waited for me. I had just opened the fridge when I heard her say in a panicky voice "Uh oh, Uh oh, OH NO!" I looked down to see this.

Needless to say I bust out laughing as she was pointing to her toe and wiggling it. As she saw me laughing she decided it was pretty funny too and started giggling about it. She kept saying "Uh oh, Uh oh, OH NO!" I was laughing so hard I was crying, but I managed to get this photo for proof. As I took the photo, hambone was saying "cheese" with her binkie in her mouth even though the camera was pointing at her toe. So, just to ensure the "cheese" factor continues I took one of her sweet little face too!!
Story #2 of this week is courtesy of Emery the day before St. Patty's day. I was picking up around the house (and distracted I might add!), Evie was down for a nap, and Emery well, was being Emery. She's never in one place for very long. I think during this conversation below she had started in the living room, went through the dining room and we finished the conversation with her in the kitchen. It began like this:
Emery: "Hey mom"
Me: "yeah?"
Emery: "What's that short guy's name with the orange hair and mustache?"
Me: (Obviously puzzled I had no clue, so I tried to think like a 4 yr old. I thought maybe she's looking at a toy from McDonalds) "Ummm, Ronald McDonald?"
Emery: "Nooooo, not him, you know the other guy"
Me: (totally running out of options at this point I take a stab in the dark) "Ummm, Conan O'Brian?"
Emery: "No, silly. You know the guy that looks for the gold?"
Me: (Light bulb finally goes off) "Oh you mean a Leprechaun?"
Emery: "Yay, that's it! Thanks Mom" She goes running off to do who knows what, but she's happy!
I stood there for a minute and then bust out laughing, like a 4 year old would know who Conan O'Brian is?!! And neither Conan O'Brian or Ronald McDonald are short! But seriously, how many orange haired men with mustaches can you think of??? :)
Hope your week was filled with fun and laughter like ours was!! Talk to you all soon!

One more thing... I think it is the water base in the gel food coloring that was making the white choc/almond bark gum... in the future, you can buy coloring that is in powered form. :)
